Our lawns are laid as sown lawns or as roll-out sod lawns.  Almost all of our town garden lawns are rolled out while our larger lawns are  usually sown. In both cases,  the most commonly used seed mixture which forms the sward is called seed mix no. 2. This mix provides the appropriate balance of durability, aesthetic value and ease of maintenance of the lawn.  We also use wild flower seed mixtures and finer grass mixtures which, given the correct maintenance programme, produce lawns with the appearance of golf greens.
